Alopecia Treatment

Alopecia in simple terms is known as hair loss. Hair, just like the skin adds aesthetic appeal to the way we look and is associated with a person's self-esteem.

There are different types of hair loss:

Involution Alopecia: It is the most natural process in which an individual loses hair due to the ageing process. Hair follicles go into the resting phase when a person ages and the remaining hairs become shorter and fewer in number.

Androgenic Alopecia: This type of hair loss that is inherited. This genetic hair condition can happen in both men and women. In men it is called male pattern baldness and is characterized by receding hairline and gradual disappearance of hair from the crown and frontal scalp.

Alopecia areata: This type of hair loss happens when the body's immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles causing hair to fall out. It often starts suddenly and causes patchy hair loss.

Alopecia universalis: This condition causes hair from different area of the body to fall out, including the eyebrows, eyelashes.

There are many factors that contribute to hair loss:

  • Ageing
  • Malnutrition
  • Genetics
  • Some medication
  • Auto immune disorder
  • Illness and stress
  • Burns and injuries
  • Some cosmetic procedure

At Skiin Bliss we use different treatment methods to control hair loss: At Skiin Bliss we use low level laser for hair loss treatment. The laser penetrates the tissues of the scalp and stimulates the circulation of the blood supply. As the beams of light are administered to the scalp, they're absorbed into the skin which in turn makes the blood flow to tissue that did not have proper circulation. With this increase in blood flow, the follicles experience an increased exposure to oxygen and other nutrients, which helps in improving the health of your hair and prevents further hair loss. The main benefits of using this procedure are:

  • Stimulates hair follicles
  • Stops hair loss
  • Increases hair strength
  • Increases blood supply to the scalp
  • It's a non-invasive procedure
  • Repairs hair damage caused
  • Less painful than surgical procedures like hair transplants
